Women’s Silver/Bronze
This event was inaugurated in August 1964, following representations by Mrs Eileen Dawson to the Members’ Committee of Royal Perth Golf Club.
Mr John Tomlinson, then President presented to the Associates (now Women Members), a Silver Salver on behalf of the Members. The event was an Annual Open competition for Silver Division players, playing 36 holes stroke.
Over the years, there have been multiple winners, with Val Gmeiner winning the trophy 8 times (1964, 1965, 1970, 1972, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1982). Chelsea Babbe (1998 and 2003) and Stacey Shanahan (2006 and 2009) have won it twice .
A Bronze event was added in 2013 and in 2014 the Silver Salver was changed to an 18 hole Gross event and renamed the Royal Perth Silver Open.
